Who operates Latin Quest?

Latin Quest is created by John Shawler. Privacy questions can be directed to support@latinquest.info. This address is currently being activated and may not yet accept messages.

Information stored on your device

The game stores which levels you have completed. It automatically saves each level’s fastest completion time and the date that record was set. The current game does not ask you to enter a player name.

These records are saved in the app’s local storage. The game does not send them to John Shawler, a Latin Quest server, or other players. Earlier test builds allowed optional player names in local top-ten lists. Those older records may remain on a device after an update, but the current game does not display those names or collect new ones.

On a shared device, other people who use the same app installation can view its completed levels, fastest times, and record dates.

Accounts, advertising & analytics

This version does not include account registration, advertisements, advertising trackers, or an app-integrated analytics or crash-reporting service. Its vocabulary, artwork, fonts, and sound are bundled with the app for offline gameplay.

This statement describes Latin Quest’s own code. Apple separately handles App Store transactions and any device diagnostics or backups enabled through your Apple settings, under Apple’s policies.

Keeping and removing local records

Local progress and saved times remain available across normal app restarts. The game has no developer-operated cloud synchronization or account-based recovery.

Deleting the app removes its local data from that installation. Offloading an app is different from deleting it and may preserve its data. Any copies held in device backups are managed through your device or backup provider’s settings. The game does not provide a separate control for deleting individual records or older test-build data.

When you contact support

If you email support, your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to provide will be received and used to respond to your request and investigate the issue. The intended support route forwards messages through Cloudflare Email Routing to the developer’s Gmail inbox.

Email is separate from gameplay: the game does not automatically send a support report. Please avoid including student names, passwords, payment details, or unnecessary personal information. You may ask for support correspondence to be deleted; requests will be handled subject to any applicable retention obligations.

Children and classroom devices

Latin Quest does not ask for an account, age, email address, or contact information during play. The current game does not ask for a player name. Progress and fastest-time records on a shared installation are shared across its players.

A parent, guardian, or teacher can contact support about a privacy concern. Do not include a child’s personal information unless it is necessary to explain that concern.

This website

These pages do not include a mailing-list form, advertising scripts, embedded social-media feeds, or site-added analytics. Images and fonts are served with the website. Clicking an email link opens your chosen email application; it does not send a message automatically. Opening a website link from the app visits these pages and is subject to the website practices described here.

The hosting and network providers process technical connection information, such as IP addresses and request details, as needed to deliver and secure the website. Any hosting-provider access controls or service cookies are separate from the game’s local storage.

Changes to this policy

If the app’s data practices change, this policy will be updated with a new date. The final App Store release and its privacy disclosures should be read alongside the policy for that version.
